'Surge' An Architectural Installation - Brennen Stenke '17

Brennen Stenke '17 a Dale S. Strohl '58 grant recipient recently completed an architectural installation on the quad area behind Whitaker Hall. Stenke collaborated with Professor Hyun-Tae Jung, Ph.D with the design portion of the project during Spring '15 and again during the construction phase in the Fall '15 semester. Stenke has titled his installation 'Surge' to describe the motion of the varying length projections which form a wave like surface.

The three-dimensional grid system made of 2" x 2" strips of pressure-treated lumber are connected with screws and metal anchors positioned in a way that the object looks differently as it is circulated. Stenke's installation assembled with the assistance of his architecture major peers will be on display through the end of the Spring '16 semester.
