Opportunities

Lehigh University AAD - Opportunities

AAD students are encouraged to take advantage of the following opportunities to enhance their programs in the Arts at Lehigh:

Lehigh Mountaintop Experience

Intensive, hands-on student-driven workshops take place in between academic semesters at Lehigh’s expansive Mountaintop campus. AAD students have created workshops and partnered with faculty in design-build architecture projects, fashion design, photography, building materials labs, product design and more.

Fusion Studio

Graphic design students get real world experience in Fusion Studio, a full-service design agency that lets students take on client-driven projects and entrepreneurial ventures across campus. The program provides experience—and enhanced portfolios—that assists students to secure desirable jobs after college.

Lehigh University Art, Architecture and Design Alumni on LinkedIn

Network with fellow alums, discuss portfolio work, and streamline job searching. Our Alumni group on LinkedIn is for all students who complete a major in the Department.

LVAIC consortium (Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges)

Students at Lehigh may cross register with the member colleges in the Lehigh Valley for courses.

Lehigh University Study Abroad

Students may partake in Lehigh sponsored and affiliated programs to study abroad for 2-week to full year programs, enriching the artistic, visual and historical breadth of their educations. AAD students have recently traveled to France, Senegal, Italy, Uzbekistan, Spain and the Czech Republic, just to name a few.

Additional Student run and community activities of interest to AAD students abound both on and off campus. A few include:

The Lehigh Review, a student-produced journal of the Arts and Sciences

The Lehigh University Art Galleries sponsors student docents who volunteer in its main galleries

The Lehigh University Student Art, Architecture and Design Club

Engineers without Borders, Lehigh Valley Chapter

Architecture for Humanity, Philadelphia Chapter

AAD students are also active in seeking internships while they are in college. Our students participate in a wide variety of local, regional, national and international internships.  Recent AAD students have held internships at the Museum of Modern Art, Christie’s, The New York Yankees, Sony Pictures, Urban Outfitters, Scholastic Magazine, ABC News, and Michael Kors.
